A charming and colourful rural scene depicting a woman walking across a garden path toward two white ducks, with a distinctively curved-roof barn and bare winter trees in the background. Executed in Kernoff’s recognisable style with simplified forms, rich colour, and rhythmic composition, the work captures a nostalgic vision of Irish country life with quiet warmth and clarity. Known for his vivid portraits, urban scenes, and landscapes, Kernoff depicted Irish life with affection and sharp observation. A member of the Royal Hibernian Academy, he worked across oils, watercolours, and printmaking. His works are held in all major Irish public collections, including the National Gallery of Ireland and IMMA.
