PICTURES AND PRINTS Tuesday 16th September 2025 18:41:40 Biography STELLA STEYN (1907 - 1987) Stella Steyn was a modernist Irish painter known for her still lifes, interiors, and figure studies. She studied at the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art and later in Paris, where she encountered artists such as James Joyce and Samuel Beckett. Influenced by both French modernism and German expressionism, her work is noted for its lyricism, expressive brushwork, and restrained palette. Her paintings are held in the collections of the Hugh Lane Gallery, IMMA, and the Crawford Art Gallery.
