Signed 'Rossetti' and initialled 'GR' Titled 'The Heir of Linne' in Mrs Gabriele Rossetti's hand (according to V. Surtees), lower right. Inscribed verso 'G.D. Rossetti to Rosa de Mortara, Marquise de Rochegude, when she was ten years old. 1840' in the same hand.
