Arthur-Marie-Gabriel Comte du Passage (French, 1838 - 1909) Horse and Groom Trotting Circa 1881 Bronze with a rich mid to dark brown patina Signed 'C du Passage’ The present model is perhaps his best known and was cast in four sizes, a fact which emphasises its popularity amongst the buying public towards the end of the nineteenth century. This bronze is shown here in its largest size, and is the rarest to find. Exhibited: 'Nineteenth Century Bronze Sculpture', Sladmore Gallery, London, Inaugural show, 26th April - 26th May 2006.
